MXC | Gaels Have Best Ever Finish at Regionals, Place 14th

COLFAX, Wash. - The Saint Mary's Men's Cross Country Team had their best finish at NCAA West Regionals in program history coming in at 14th out of 31 teams. Three of the Gaels finished in the top-100, with Zane Jackson leading the pack.
Jackson opened up the 10 kilometer race way back in 127th through the first kilometer split, but continued to pick off runner after runner, and finished in 54th place with his career best 10K time of 30:23.0. Jacob Moffett secured the 88th spot, with a good late surge. After falling out of the top-100 six kilometers in, Jacob jumped 12 spots in the final 4K to finish within the top-100 with a time of 31:09.4 in his first collegiate 10K. Curtis Volf rounded out the group of top-100 finishers for the Gaels, finishing in 94th for a time of 31:16.3 in his third NCAA West Regional race as a Gael.
Taking back to back spots, Jason Habash and Eric Martinez secured the 102nd and 103rd spots. Martinez finished 0.7 seconds behind Habash, each jumping five spots in the final kilometer of the race. Francisco Felix finished in 132nd, followed by Aidan Donovan in 135th.
