ABOUT UC SANTA BARBARA
The ITA announced the newest team, singles and doubles rankings this afternoon. Pablo Masjuan continues to climb in singles as he jumped up four spots to No. 20 in the singles rankings. Additionally, he and his doubles partner, Gianluca Brunkow, moved up over 20 spots in the doubles rankings now slotted at No. 34.

Last week, Kai Brady was named The Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Brady is currently 3-0 in singles action playing all three matches in the No. 5 position. He earned the award after helping UC Santa Barbara comeback from a 2-0 deficit against Santa Clara where the Gauchos pulled out a 4-3 victory for their first win of the season.

UC Santa Barbara started strong in the fall with Pablo Masjuan and Gianluca Brunkow picking up a doubles victory against, at the time, the No. 12 ranked doubles teams in the nation in their opening fall tournament. Later on, Masjuan would qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships and make a great run but ultimately fell in the quarterfinal round of the Championship. Kai Brady was recently named the Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

ABOUT SAN DIEGO STATE
No. 75-ranked San Diego State is riding a three-match winning streak with a combined score of 12-3. The Aztecs opened the season with wins over Brigham Young and Sacramento State. They bounced back from a loss at UC Irvine by beating Idaho, UC Riverside and Point Loma Nazarene. The final two matches were part of a doubleheader on Wednesday at the Aztec Tennis Center.

The Scarlet and Black have won the doubles point in every match in 2024, with the duos of Alexander Mandma/Robin Parts (4-0, court 1) and Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice/Bora Sengul (3-0, court 3) starting the season undefeated. Parts is also off to a 4-0 start in singles, playing on each of the bottom three courts.
