MBB | Incoming Gael Mikey Lewis Named a United States All-Star For the Hoop Culture Capital Classic

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As just announced by Hoop Culture, incoming Gael Mikey Lewis has been named the US All-Star Roster for the Capital Classic event. Considered one of the nation's most legendary high school basketball All-American Games, the event will be played on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, DC.
The roster features seven of ESPN's top-100 players, with Lewis checking in at #93, and will be led by AAU and high school basketball coaching legends Darryl Darby, John Mosco, Rob Garner, Lenjo Kilo, Aaron Jones and Edward Meeks.
Established in 1974, the Capital Classic has been a beacon in the Washington, DC community, showcasing some of the nation's top high school basketball talent. The game has become a steppingstone for many college All-Americans, NBA All-Stars and Pro Basketball Hall of Fame recipients, such as Moses Malone, Magic Johnson, Ralph Sampson, Dominique Wilkins, Michael Jordan,Patrick Ewing, Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Chris
Paul, Dwight Howard and Klay Thompson.
A four star combo guard out of Prolific Prep, Mikey chose Saint Mary's over 17 other schools, including Kansas, Illinois, San Diego State and Colorado State. Lewis led Prolific Prep to a 33-5 record and a Grind Session Championship. Prolific Prep is set to take on Link Academy in the Chipotle Nationals Quarterfinals next week. According to ESON's Paul Biancardi, Prolific Prep is the fifth ranked high school boys basketball team in the country.
