MXC | Zane Jackson Captures Second Career WCC Runner of the Week Honor

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Coming off of leading the Gaels to their best all-time finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, graduate student Zane Jackson was honored as the West Coast Conference Runner of the Week. This is Jackson's second time capturing this award, as he is the only Gael ever to win it since the WCC moved to a weekly award format from monthly in 2022.
Zane Jackson paced the Gaels to a 6th place finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, the Gaels best ever team finish at this event. Jackson placed 16th overall with a time of 23:47.28. Jackson ran each of the first 7 kilometers of the race at approximately three minutes, but surged with a 2:47.98 final kilometer to propel himself into the top-20.
The Gaels have one final tune up race this weekend, the Bronco Invitational, before the WCC Championship, being held November 1 in Cheney, Washington.
