MORAGA, Calif. — Over the past 25 years, Saint Mary's has been synonymous with strong point guard play. Names like Mickey McConnell, Matthew Dellavedova, Emmett Naar, Joe Rahon and Augustas Marciulionis have long echoes through the halls of the Moraga campus. The Gaels feel like they have added another student-athlete who can add to the long line of pristine point guard play, as JRob Croy has signed on National Signing Day out of Riverside Poly High School.
"We're excited to have JRob joining us here at Saint Mary's. We feel he has great potential to be a very good point guard in the future of our program." stated Head Coach Randy Bennett, "He has great size and is a tremendous shooter. With all of that, his best quality is his leadership abilities, which is what we're looking for as a point guard at the level we are at."
JRob is coming off of leading the Riverside Poly Bears to an Ivy League Title and a trip to the Division II CIF State Regional Semifinals. At 6-6, Croy is looking to not just make plays for himself, but also his teammates around him, demonstrating a high level of maturity for a prep player. On the AAU circuit, Croy helped lead Team CPSA to the 2025 Puma Pro16 17U League Title, averaging 13.5 points per game and six assists per contest while shooting 39% from three.
Croy is ranked as the 113th player in the class of 2026 according to 247Sports, and the 10th rated player from the state of California. He chose Saint Mary's over a plethora of other offers, including Gonzaga, Stanford and Texas A&M. He is the son of current Cal Baptist Head Coach and former Saint Mary's Assistant Coach Rick Croy.
