SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The defending WCC Co-Pitcher of the Year has her first accolade of the 2025 campaign, as Odhi Vasquez has been named WCC Pitcher of the Week following the Long Beach State hosted Wilson Tournament. Vasquez won this award once as a freshman and three times last year, and now becomes the first ever five time winner of this recognition in program history. 

Odhi Vasquez led the Gaels to victory against Southern Utah on Saturday, February 15. The junior tossed all eight innings in the extra innings affair, allowing just one run on five hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks. The defending WCC pitcher of the year showed true fortitude, as an error loaded the bases in the eighth with no outs, but Vasquez struck out back to back batters on six pitchers before inducing an inning ending groundout unscathed. The Gaels would walk things off in the bottom half. Vasquez also hit for the game, logging her first hit of the season.

Vasquez and the Gaels will be back at it this weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
