SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Mikey Lewis could not have picked a better week to be the hottest three point shooter in the WCC, leading the Gaels to victory over Portland and on the road at Gonzaga to help Saint Mary's lock up their second straight outright WCC Regular Season title, and their third straight regular season conference title share. Lewis tied his career mark with nine made threes over the two game stretch, doing so extremely efficiently on just 13 attempts, earning him his fourth WCC Freshman of the Week honors. Lewis continues to duke it out with Portland's Austin Rapp (5* Freshman of the Week recipient) as the two front runners for WCC Freshman of the Year honors. 

Freshman phenom Mikey Lewis had yet another brilliant week, leading the Gaels to two wins and the eventual outright WCC regular season title. Lewis not only shot 56% from the field, but an incredible 69% (9-13) from three. He was the only Gael in double figures for both contests this week. Against Gonzaga, Lewis led the Gaels with 18, not all that dissimilar to what he did against the Zags in Moraga, leading SMC with 16 points then. With 259 points this season, Lewis sits in eighth in freshman scoring for freshmen to have played under Head Coach Randy Bennett, and is within striking distance of becoming the third freshman in the last decade to score 300 points in his debut season (Mahaney and Fitzner). 

Mikey and the Gaels have two tough final contests to close out the regular season, at LMU on Thursday and at home vs Oregon State for Senior Day on Saturday. With the regular season WCC title and the one seed in the WCC Tournament already locked up, each game will now move to the category of NCAA Tournament resume building.
