SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Gaels headed to Southern California to take on the top ranked team in the WCC in 7th ranked San Diego. The Toreros proved why they are one of the nation's top men's tennis programs with their second shutout in conference play as they improved to 3-0 in the WCC. The Gaels battled early on, taking three games in each of the two doubles matches but ultimately fell 6-3 to drop the doubles point.
Bastien Maxant and
Ellison Greco were knotted at five before the point was clinched.
Francisco Duran was the lone Gael to take a set in his singles match, winning the second set 6-3 before the match was clinched.
Aidan Watt,
Pierre Lieutaud and
Thibaud Maxant fell in the three singles matches to give San Diego the 4-0 victory. The Gaels have still won two of their last three matches and are 2-2 in conference play, sitting in a tie for fourth in the conference standings.
