ABOUT THE SEMINOLES
Over the past decade plus, Florida State Softball has been synonymous with greatness. With five Women's College World Series appearances dating back to 2014, including the 2018 National Title, the Seminoles continue to be amongst the top rated teams in the country, opening 2025 with a 36-6 record, good for ninth in the latest polls. Throughout most of this recent success, it's been Head Coach Loni Alameda pulling the strings, with a record of 798-220-2 over the last 17 years. An incredibly well balanced team, the Seminoles rank fourth in the country with a team batting average of 0.364 and 14th in the nation with a team ERA of 2.25. Sophomore Kennedy Harp has been the most formidable hitter in the FSU lineup, ranking second on the team with a 0.426 average and leading the Noles with 49 runs scored, 46 RBI, a 0.513 on-base percentage and an 0.822 slugging percentage. In the circle, the duo of starters Ashtyn Danley (8-1 1.82 ERA) and Annabelle Widra (8-2 2.33 ERA) headline a staff of six pitchers that have limited opposing lineups to just a 0.227 average. This is the second all-time meeting between SMC and FSU, with Florida State winning the only other meeting.
