SB | Defending Back-to-Back WCC Champion Gaels Begin Quest for Three-Peat with Nine Game Fall Slate

MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's Gaels once again will bring momentum into the 2026 season after winning their second straight WCC Title in 2025. The Gaels return both of their starting pitchers from last year, and eight of their nine starters from last year's batting order, as they look well in position to once again fight for the top spot in the conference. In preparation for the 2026 campaign, the Gaels roll out a slate of nine fall contests to make sure that they are ready to go when the countable season opens up in February.

Oct. 4…Red & Blue Intrasquad…Cottrell Field…10 AM
Oct. 5…vs. San Jose State…Cottrell Field…10 AM
Oct. 5…vs. UC Davis…Cottrell Field…3 PM
Oct. 19…at Sacramento State…Shea Stadium…10 AM
Oct. 19…vs. Dominican…Shea Stadium…12:30 PM
Oct. 26…at Cal State Monterey Bay (DH)...Otter Sports Complex…3 PM
Nov. 15…vs. Stanford (DH)...Cottrell Field…12 PM

After their Fall season opening intrasquad on October 4, the Gaels will test themselves with three other NorCal DI opponents, headlined by a road matchup with Sacramento State, who finished as runners up in the Big Sky last year. Also in that opening mix will be San Jose State and UC Davis. The Gaels didn't see the Spartans last season, but saw both the Aggies and Hornets, going 1-1 against the former and 0-2 against the latter.

The Gaels will then get a pair of DII opponents, Dominican at Sacramento State, followed by a doubleheader at Cal State Monterey Bay. Once again, the Gaels will get a chance to see their former Associate Head Coach, Emily Montanez, who took the helm at CSUMB last year.

The Fall slate will end on November 15 with a doubleheader at Cottrell against Stanford. The Gaels took on the Cardinal in the Spring last year when they were ranked 17th in the country, and went 10 innings before eventually falling 5-4.

All games at Cottrell Field will be free and open to the public. Come out and support the Gaels.
