MORAGA, Calif. — After competing in just her second collegiate track and field invitational, freshman Alexys Carlson has earned this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week title. Carlson smashed two program records this past week, and is the first track and field athlete to win the award since Jaden DeSouza on May 20, 2025.
At the Silver and Blue Invitational, Carlson secured first place in the weight throw with her mark at 15.12m (49' 7¼"). The throw marked her new personal best in the event and broke her own program record, set just a month ago in her first collegiate meet. Carlson also competed in shot put, earning third place with a throw of 11.12m (36' 5¾"), breaking the program record for that event as well. Her early season success sets the tone for an exciting season ahead for Saint Mary's new throwing program.
ALSO NOMINATED: Joshua Dent (MBB), Abigail Shoff (WBB)
