MWP | Saint Mary’s Men’s Water Polo Adds Auckland, New Zealand Native Harry Lambert Irwin

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's Men's Water Polo continues to add to their roster as they welcome incoming freshman Harry Lambert Irwin.

Arriving to the Gaels from Auckland, New Zealand, Irwin brings with him plenty of experience to contribute to this new program. In 2025, Irwin competed for the New Zealand under-20 national team in the World Championships. While competing on that team, he was named in the Canberra Water Polo Academy Second Seven at the 2025 Australia Cup in Canberra. In that same year, he received New Zealand's ASB Young Sportsperson Award for Water Polo and was the runner up for Young Sportsman of the Year. Irwin also was named the 2025 MVP for the under-18 National Club Championships while competing for Sea Wolf Water Polo Club.

Irwin's experience and competitive success should prove to be a strong addition to the Gaels' roster as the program continues to take shape.
