MWP | Goalkeeper Federico Castrucci Signs on to Join Saint Mary’s Men’s Water Polo Program

MORAGA, Calif. — Arriving in Moraga for Saint Mary's Men's Water Polo's inaugural season is goalkeeper Federico Castrucci.
Castrucci joins the Gaels from Rome, Italy, bringing an abundance of experience and success. In the 2025 season, his team placed third at the under-18 Italian Championship, 4th at the Oradea European Championship, and eighth at the under-20 Zagreb World Championship. The season prior, Castrucci and his team snatched fourth at the under-18 Buenos Aires World Championship and seventh at the under-19 Burgas European Championship. While competing in the 2023 under-18 Italian Championship, his team earned second place. The same year, the program placed sixth at the under-17 Manisa European Championship. During 2022, his team placed fifth at the under-16 Volos World Championship and then went on to win the under-16 Italian Championship.
With a multitude of success, Federico Castrucci will set the standard for Gaels' goalkeeping unit as they inch closer to their first season of competition.
