Braxton Brown Flexes Her Muscle at the Mary Nutter, Earns Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. — Braxton Brown entered the 2026 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic with just four hits in her first eight games of the season, but the junior showed that it was only a matter of time before her big bat came to life, as she left the yard three times in Cathedral City as part of a seven hit weekend, earning her second-ever Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week nod. She is the first Gaels Softball player to win the award this year, after three different Gaels achieved the feat last year.

Brown had a Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic to remember, going for 7 hits and nine RBI in the five games. Six of her seven hits were of the extra base variety, including her first three home runs of the season. Brown hit .438 with hits in four of the five games in the tournament. She logged a career-high five RBI in the opener against San Diego State, a signature come from behind extra innings win for the Gaels against a team receiving votes in the latest polls.
