Damozonio Records Career High 9 Strikeouts in Shutout Win to be Named Shamrock Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. - Senior right hander John Damozonio won his first career Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week award after his career outing against Portland in last week's West Coast Conference baseball series.
The San Jose native picked up win number four on the season with a career high nine strikeouts in six scoreless innings against the Pilots last Friday. Damozonio and southpaw Cam Staton combined to shutout the Pilots for the team's third shutout win of the season. Damozonio has completed six full innings four different times this season and now shares the conference lead with four wins. He also owns a career low 2.37 ERA through his seven starts this season. He leads the team with 40 strikeouts and 38.0 innings pitched while holding opposing hitters to just a .221 average at the plate.
The Saint Mary's baseball team will take on Cal in Berkeley Tuesday night before returning to Moraga for a three-game conference series against Pacific starting on Thursday. Tickets can be bought online at smcgaels.com/tickets and you can catch all the action live on ESPN+.
