PRONUNCIATION

AS A GRADUATE STUDENT (2021-2022): Appeared in all 34 games for the Gaels starting 21 of them … led the team in assists per game (3.7) and was second on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game … posted a career high in field goal percentage (49.4%) and three-point field goal percentage (45%) … scored a season high 27 points with 5 rebounds and 4 assists in a win against Santa Clara in the West Coast Conference semifinal on Mar. 7 … scored double-digit points in the final 11 games of the season, including the Gaels four postseason games … had a season high eight assists on the Gaels first game of the season against Prairie View A&M on Nov. 9 … played all 40 minutes on five occasions this year … had four steals in a game on three separate occasions … climbed to fifth all-time on the Saint Mary’s all-time assist leaders, and ends his career ninth in steals, 26th in career points, and first in games played … became the 31st Gael in program history to score 1,000 points in a 69-64 win at home over San Francisco ... named Bay Area Alarm Student Athlete on Jan. 31 and WCC Player of the week on Feb. 21 after consecutive games with 22 and 25 points … named All-WCC First Team and was named the WCC's Sixth Man of the Year.

AS A REDSHIRT SENIOR (2020-21): Started all 24 games for the Gaels and led the team with 35.8 minutes played … Placed on scholarship during summer prior to the season … Named to WCC All-Academic Team for second straight year with a 3.61 GPA ... Finished second on the team with 12.8 points per game and led SMC in assists for the third straight year (121)  … Second in the WCC in minutes per game, assists per game (5.0) and fourth in assist-turnover ratio (2.1) … Scored a career-high 34 points against Eastern Washington on Dec. 15 while going 14-for-23 from the field … Hit a bank shot with 1.8 seconds left against Northern Iowas to lift SMC to a 66-64 win … Had a 15 point, 13 assist double-double against Texas Southern on Dec. 3 … Earned his second double-double of the year with 17 points and 11 assists against Western Kentucky in the NIT … Put up 24 points against UTEP on Dec. 8 at home … Led the team with 36 steals … Shot .797 from the free throw line … Had an overall shooting line of .407/.275/.797 … Named the Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week on Nov. 30.


AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2019-20): Made 33 appearances and 19 starts...Missed season opener with ankle injury and got his first start of the year on Nov. 20 against Fresno State...Led the in assists with 124...Had an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.34...Named to WCC All-Academic Team and
DI-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete Team...Played more minutes than any other walk-on in the country...Averaged 5.9 ppg and 3.4 rpg...Scored career-high 20 points and had eight assists in his second game of the year against Long Beach State on Nov. 14...Scored 15 points in back-to-back games against San Francisco and Pacific to open WCC play...Averaged 7.0 apg across three game stretch in late January...Played career-high 50 minutes in quadruple overtime contest versus Pacific on Jan. 4...In games where he scored, Gaels were 23-3...Started last four games of the year.

AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2018-19): Played in all 34 contests and made 27 starts...Made his first career start in an 84-71 win over Cal on Dec. 1...Helped the team go 19-8 while in the starting lineup...Led the team with 2.9 assists per game...Recorded an 11 point, 10 assist double-double against Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 10...Averaged 6.2 points per game and shot .421 overall from the field...One of the team’s best free throw shooters at an 83 percent clip...Scored a season-high 17 points against San Francisco on Feb. 2...Was a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc against Pepperdine on Feb. 16...Played all 40 minutes in the team’s WCC Championship win over No. 1 Gonzaga...Earned Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week during the first week of December...Shot .340 from 3-point distance.


AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2017-18): First career appearance versus Saint Francis... Scored first career points with five versus UNC Asheville... Recorded five minutes of game action and a rebound versus Saint Francis and Pepperdine...Played one minute versus the Aggies...Recorded first career assists and steal in win over Cal State Fullerton...Played one minute at San Jose State... One assist in win over Harvard at Wooden Legacy...DNP versus Washington State and Georgia...One assist versus Seattle... Has played in 23 games so far.

AS A FRESHMAN (2016-17): Did not see any action as a true freshman. 

PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S:  A 2016 graduate of Mountain View High School ... second-team all-state as a junior and senior ... named city player of the year and a first team all-city selection as a senior ... selected as section player of the year in 2016 ... set school records for most points in a game (42), most 3-point field goals in a game (10) and career free throw percentage (89%) ... earned two varsity letters in basketball and one in baseball ... averaged 21 points, 4 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 2 steals per game as a senior ... led team to section championship and division 1 state quarterfinals in 2016 ... coached by Gary Ernst, the winningest high school coach in Arizona ... averaged 18 points, 4.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals as a junior ... son of Craig and Pamela Kuhse ... has one sister, Tatum.
