Katelyn Watts joins the Saint Mary's sports medicine team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the 2023-24 athletic year. She is responsible for the Saint Mary's baseball and golf programs.Â
Katelyn spent the past three years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Cupertino High School. On top of her typical athletic training duties, Katelyn also helped guide the Cupertino athletic training department through the pandemic, and even developed the Fremont Union High School District COVID-19 policies and procedures for athletic trainers.
Prior to her time at Cupertino, Katelyn served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Texas A&M Kingsville, while enrolled in their Master's of Kinesiology program. There, she served as the lead athletic trainer for the beach volleyball program, as well as an assistant trainer for the football program. During her time in Texas, Katelyn also served as a Contracted Head Athletic Trainer at Santa Gertrudis Acadmey High School.Â
Watts received a pair of bachelors degrees from Brock University (physical education) and Sheridan College (athletic training). During her time in undergrad, she interned for the Brampton Beast of the ECHL and the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.
