Lexi Petersen joined the Saint Mary's coaching staff in 2023 after serving as an assistant coach at Seattle U from the summer of 2020 to the end of the 2022-23 season. Petersen served one season as the Redhawks Director of Basketball Operations before being promoted to assistant coach alongside Suzy Barcomb in 2020. Petersen worked with Seattle U shooting guards and prepared player personnel files for opponent scouting reports.
Petersen is a 2016 graduate from the University of Oregon, where she scored 1,226 career points in a school-record 126 games. After suffering a knee injury to end her 2012-13 campaign, Petersen bounced back with a solid redshirt sophomore season, averaging 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She event set a new career high with 25 points in a win over Cal Poly. Petersen went on to average 12 points per game over her final two seasons and broke out for a career as a senior, averaging over 13 points while shooting 45% from the field. She concluded her four-year career at Oregon with a program record 126 games played and 1,226 career points. Petersen also helped lead the Ducks to 24 wins and a deep postseason run in the 2016 WNIT, falling to South Dakota in the tournament semifinals. She played professionally in Greece and Iceland for three years following her collegiate career before getting into the coaching ranks.
The native of Tukwila, Washington, worked as a youth basketball coach in Iceland and helped launch the “Women Ball Too” summer program in 2019. Petersen then returned to the states and joined Barcomb's staff in the summer of 2019 as Director of Basketball Operations at Seattle U.
