Matt Giusto joined Saint Mary's Track and Fielf coaching staff in July 2022. Giusto brings a host of experience to the Gaels coaching staff, as Giusto competed professionally in cross country, indoor track, outdoor track, and road racing after graduating from the University of Arizona in 1988.
Giusto ran professionally for numerous running clubs, including Nike International, Mizuno International Track Club, Foot Locker Elite Track Club, and Reebok International Track Club. Giusto retired from the sport in 2000, and is looking forward to using his running experiences for the first time in a coaching setting.
"Now entering my 43rd year of running, which included high school, college, professional, and recreational, I am excited to be a part of Saint Mary's College. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to give back to the sport that afforded me so many amazing experiences and life lessons. To be able to share these experiences and lessons with aspiring athlete's has always been a goal of mine."
