Women's Volleyball Falls to #10 Pepperdine, 3-1

Malibu, CA - Sophomore outside hitter Katie Wilkins registered a career-high 25 kills, tallied 11 digs and hit .388 to lead No. 10 Pepperdine to a four-game victory over Saint Mary's in a West Coast Conference (WCC) match Saturday evening at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.

The Waves won by scores of 30-21, 26-30, 30-18, 30-22 to conclude the regular season with a 21-3 overall record and a perfect 14-0 mark in WCC play. Saint Mary's ended its season with a 5-21 overall record and a 2-12 mark in the WCC.

For Saint Mary's Meagan Smith led the way with 14 kills and 12 digs in her final match. Fellow senior Carla Jo Vandenbark added 13 kills with a .309 hitting percentage. Setter Brooke Lowry had 37 assists and 10 digs and Rachel Avilla also had 10 digs.

Junior middle blocker Stacy Rouwenhorst and senior outside hitter Melissa Snow also recorded double-doubles for the Waves. Rouwenhorst totaled 15 kills, 13 digs and posted a .714 hitting percentage, while Snow tallied 13 kills and 10 digs.

Pepperdine hit .315 for the match, while Saint Mary's posted a .217 hitting mark.
