SAN DIEGO, CA - In front of 737 spectators in the Jenny Craig Pavilion, the University of San Diego Toreros swept the Gaels of Saint Mary's 30-23, 30-18, 30-21 Saturday night.
San Diego (17-7, 7-3) solidified their hold on third place in the WCC with the three game sweep of Saint Mary's. Four Toreros reached double figures in kills. Freshman Devon Forster pounded a game-high 17 kills, while teammates Lisa Gordon, Lindsey Lampert and Noel Frohman posted double figures as well.
Saint Mary's (3-18, 0-10) did not have an answer to the Torero attack. San Diego held the Gaels to a .126 hitting percentage, compared to the Torero's attacking percentage of .325.
Saint Mary's returns to action on Friday when they host Gonzaga. First serve is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at McKeon Pavilion.
