Both teams would add another run in the seventh as the score read 13-10. The Gaels used a little bit of trickery on their run as McSherry stole second, Teahen stole home reaching on a single to left field and advancing on a Houle single. The Wolf Pack then retaliated scoring a run. Erick Streelman hit a single to left to start off the inning and was later scored on a single by Ryan Strain.
The Gaels went scoreless in the eighth and then found themselves in a little bit of trouble. After giving up one run to make the score 13-11, 19-game starting shortstop Brett Wayne saw some action on the mound. Wayne, gave up three runs on two hits and one walk and received the loss after the Wolf Pack added four more runs to win 15-13.
