Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's women's volleyball team lost their final regular season game on Saturday night, falling in five sets to San Francisco at McKeon Pavilion in front of 634 fans. The Gaels dropped the first game 20-30, won the second game 30-21, lost the third game 28-30, won the fourth 30-26, and dropped the fifth game 16-18. The loss drops the Gaels' West Coast Conference record to 6-8 and overall record to 20-12.
The Gaels took USF to the final game in front of one of the largest crowds in Saint Mary's history. The Gaels battled to the final game, alternating wins with USF, and fighting off three match points in game five.
Saint Mary's was led by sophomore Kaui Salzman who had 19 kills and 17 digs, senior Jill Parmele had 16 kills and 13 digs, junior Stacey O'Connor had 14 kills and 11 block assists, and freshman Cassandra Kokka had 11 kills and 13 digs.
The Gaels' freshman setter Mandy Bible had 56 assists, nine digs and six block assists, and junior Lindsay Hardy had 33 digs.
The Dons were led by Brittanie Budinger who had 22 kills, Teresa Russell had 20 kills and Theresa Hart had 17 kills.
