Moraga, CA - On Friday, February 14, the Saint Mary's baseball team (1-4) fell to the Nevada Wolf Pack (3-4), 8-4, at Louis Guisto Field. The Wolf Pack tallied four homeruns in the contest.

Nevada would take a 2-0 lead on a Ben Mummy two-run homerun, scoring Erick Streelman, who reached on a single.

The Gaels tied up the score in the bottom of the second inning after a collection of hits from Nick Conte, Bryan Byrne, and Adam Bellows.

Nevada would extend their lead in the fourth inning after a two-run homerun by Streelman. The Wolf Pack would add another run in the fourth on a balk by Matt Yourkin, scoring Mummy.

Nevada's Chris Dickerson led off the fifth inning with his first hit of the season, a homerun to right field. After a Taylor Pullins base-hit, Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a two-run homerun for the Wolf Pack to give Nevada a 8-2 advantage.

In the bottom of the inning for the Gaels, James Gaulke connected on his first homerun of the season, scoring Gilbert Gil to bring the Gaels within four runs.

Nevada's Streelman finished the game going 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while the Gaels' Gaulke went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored. Winning pitcher for the Wolf Pack was Brandon Gottier, who improves to 1-1, while Matt Yourkin falls to 0-1 with the loss.

The Gaels will continue the three-game series with Nevada on Saturday, February 15. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Louis Guisto Field.
