Baseball Falls to No. 2 Stanford

Stanford, CA - The Saint Mary's baseball team fell to the No. 2 ranked Stanford Cardinal 10-5 in a non-conference game on Tuesday night at Sunken Diamond on the Stanford campus. With the loss the Gaels drop to 11-28 on the season. Stanford improved to 30-5.
The Gaels' Sam Carter led the way, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and Adam Thompson went 2-for-4 with one RBI in his first action of the season.
Justin Sloan pitched five innings, allowing six earned runs on nine hits, while picking up the loss. Stanford starting pitcher Greg Reynolds picked up the victory for the Cardinal.
Saint Mary's returns to action on Friday, April 23 when it travels to Santa Clara to face the Broncos in the first game of a three-game series at 6 p.m. at Buck Shaw Stadium.
