Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's College head men's basketball coach Randy Bennett announced today that Jason Walberg (Fresno, CA) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Saint Mary's next season. Walberg will transfer to SMC from Fresno City College where he was a two-year starting shooting guard for the Rams. Walberg played his high school basketball at Clovis West High School in Fresno, CA.
"We are excited about the signing of Jason Walberg," said Randy Bennett. "Jason understands what it takes to win at a high level, as proven by the winning percentage of the team's he's played on. Walberg was named the Most Valuable Player at the San Jose City College tournament in mid-December, in addition to two tournament MVP selections during his freshman year. He was named to eight all-tournament teams in two years at Fresno City College.
