
Baseball Ends Series Against Gonzaga With Loss

Spokane, WA - The Saint Mary's baseball team dropped the final game of a three-game series with Gonzaga 4-1 on Sunday afternoon in Spokane, WA. The Gaels drop to 7-20 in conference play with the loss and 14-38 overall. Gonzaga improved to 16-11 in conference and 24-26 overall.
Gonzaga starting pitcher Patrick Donovan's only run allowed came in the ninth as Preston Young opened with double and scored on an infield single by Delaney Gallagher. John Gonzalez entered the game and picked up two ground ball outs to close out the game for Donovan and pick up his third save of the weekend and sixth of the year. Donovan improved to 4-3 with the win.
Saint Mary's starter Justin Sloan also pitched a solid game with only one inning of Bulldogs offense costing him on the afternoon. Sloan fell to 2-6 on the year allowing all four Gonzaga runs in seven innings of work.
The Gaels face San Diego in the final series of the season on Thursday, May 20 in San Diego, CA.
