Portland, OR - The Saint Mary's volleyball team hit .387 as a team and three players recorded double figures in kills as they beat Portland 3-0 on Friday night in Portland, OR. The Gaels beat the Pilots 30-26, 30-24, 30-24.
Saint Mary's was led by Cassandra Kolkka, who had 11 kills, hit .611 and added nine digs. Missie Stidham once again led the Gaels with 20 kills, hitting .378 and adding six digs. Kaui Salzman had 14 kills and six digs and Christina Kirk had seven kills and four blocks.
With the win the Gaels improve to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in West Coast Conference action. Portland falls to 3-13 overall and 0-4 in conference.
The Gaels hit .444 in Game 1, .279 in Game 2 and .450 in the third game. Saint Mary's had seven total blocks and Mandy Bible had 41 assists and seven digs.
Saint Mary's returns to action on Saturday, October 15 when it faces Gonzaga at 7 p.m. in Spokane, WA.
