Stockton, CA - The Saint Mary's volleyball rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the final two games and beat Pacific 3-2 on Saturday night in their final game at the Pacific Tournament in Stockton, CA. With the win the Gaels finish the regular season with a 19-9.
The Gaels will await their future when the NCAA announces the 2005 tournament field on Sunday, November 27 at 11:30 a.m. on ESPNews. Saint Mary's is looking to earn its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Saint Mary's was led by Christina Kirk, who had 11 kills with a .360 hitting percentage and added seven blocks. Freshman opposite hitter Taylor Groess recorded a career-high 11 kills with a .259 hitting percentage and added a career-high six blocks.
The Gaels received a match-high 22 kills by Missie Stidham, who also recorded 19 digs and five blocks. Mandy Bible set the table with 54 assists, five kills and 15 digs and Lyndsey Parker had a career-high 22 digs.
Senior Kaui Salzman had 14 kills and 17 digs and Brittany Barker had eight kills and five blocks.
As a team the Gaels recorded 15 blocks and held Pacific to a .214 hitting percentage. Saint Mary's also recorded 100 digs and four service aces. Pacific had 108 digs and 14 blocks.
