Kickert and Marigney Named to WCC All-Conference Team

San Bruno, CA - For the second straight season, both Daniel Kickert and Paul Marigney were First Team- All-West Coast Conference honorees, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Senior point guard, E.J. Rowland was the third Gael to make the all-conference team as an honorable mention honoree.
Kickert finished second on the team in both scoring (16.3 ppg) and rebounds (6.7 rpg), which ranked seventh and sixth, respectively, in the WCC. His 56.4 percent shooting was the second best in the WCC, behind WCC Newcomer of the Year, J.P. Batista of Gonzaga. He was the WCC's third best shooter from 3-point land, by hitting 46.7 shots from long range. During the 14-game WCC schedule, he averaged 18.6 points and 5.8 boards per game, which were fourth and ninth, respectively, in the conference.

E.J. Rowland, who was a WCC All-Tournament selection in 2004, was named to the all-conference team as an honorable mention selection. Rowland finished the season as the team's third leading scorer (11.1 ppg) and averaged 11.5 points per game during conference action. He finished the season with 121 assists, which was second in the WCC, and his 54 assists (3.86 apg) were third during conference action.
For the fifth consecutive season, Gonzaga won the WCC regular season championship, and for the fifth straight season a Bulldog was named the conference player of the year, as senior forward Ronny Turiaf took home the conference's top honor. Mark Few took home his fifth consecutive Coach of the Year award, Erroll Knight was the 2005 Defensive Player of the Year, and junior J.P. Batista earned the 2005 Newcomer of the Year award.
