High School: Comes to Saint Mary's by way of Denair, CA, where he attended Pitman High School in Turlock, CA...while playing for the Pride he lettered twice for baseball...was a two-time First Team All-League in the Central California League, and named to the 2008 All-District Team, following his outstanding senior season he was also named team MVP after posting a 1.01 ERA, in 69.2 IP, allowing just 10 earned runs, while striking out 104 compared to just 19 walks...that season he struck out 10 or more batters four times in just 10 starts..was also extremely handy at the plate, hitting .325, while knocking in 22 runs, and scoring 10 runs, while clubbing three doubles and two homeruns...was named the 2007 Rookie of the Year following a junior season that saw him go 9-2 with four complete games and posting an ERA of 1.39 with 86 strikeouts, in 65.1 IP...was also recruited by Santa Clara, and the University of Oregon, chose Saint Mary's because of the campus atmosphere and the quality education.
