Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's (12-4-1) took the final two games from Fairleigh Dickinson (2-10), as they Gaels swept the Knights on the strength of their offense. The slugfest got started in the second inning off sophomore left fielder Kyle Jensen's fifth homerun of the year. Jensen's two run blast started a six run inning as the Gaels never looked back defeating the Knights 13-3.

Senior pitcher Alex Jensen (1-2) went four complete innings, surrendering three hits, no runs, no walks and two strike outs, to earn his first win of the season. Freshman pitcher Justin Kuks closed out the game pitching four complete innings surrendering six hits, three runs, two earned runs, four walks and five strike outs. It was the second save of the season for Kuks.

The first game was called after eight innings as the two head coaches agreed to end the game early if there was a ten run lead after seven innings. And following junior outfielder Ryan Young's two run homerun in the bottom of the eighth, that's exactly what happened as the Gaels won in a rare eighth inning walk-off. The homerun was the first of the year for Young his fourth as a Gael.

Also having a big game, was sophomore second baseman Randy Wells who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, also senior designated hitter Geoff Byrns went 2-for-3 with a double two runs scored and one knocked in.

The second game was much more of the same, with the Gaels putting up big numbers scoring 11 runs on 11 hits, as SMC cruised to an 11-6 win.

Freshman Taylor Reid got the start for the Gaels and pitched six complete innings giving up five hits, six earned runs, three walks and no strike outs. Reid started the seventh but hit two batters in a row and walked a third to load the bases to end his day.

Freshman pitcher Dorsey Ek (1-0) came into the game for the Gaels and went three innings, surrendering three hits, no runs, no walks and three strike outs to earn his first collegiate win.

Sophomore catcher Ryan Mulligan provided all the insurance runs the Gaels would need as he hit a three run homerun in the bottom of the seventh. Mulligan's homerun caped a six run seventh that put the Gaels back on top 11-6.
