High School: Prior to his senior season, was a Second Team "Best of the West" selection by the Long Beach Press Telegram...was a McDonald's All-American nominee...was named the West Catholic Athletic League Player of the Year by the San Jose Mercury News...ranked No. 3 in the 2008 NorCalPreps.com prospect rankings...Rivals.com has ranked him as the 13th highest basketball prospect in the state of California...during his senior season at Archbiship Mitty High School, he averaged 21.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game...was named the Central Coast Section Player of the Year in 2008...led the Monarchs to a USA Today No. 9 national ranking to end the year, following a 29-2 overall record and a second straight Division II state championship runner-up finish to Mater Dei...had 17 points, four rebounds and three steals in the championship game...Mitty was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation by the USA Today high school basketball rankings...was a 2008 Les Schwab Invite All-Touranment selection...ended his career third all-time at AMHS with 1,535 points...set the WCAL record for points (277) in a season, and three-pointers (163) made...as a junior he scored 302 points to average a team-high 15.1 points per game...helped the Monarchs to a 29-6 overall record, 12-2 in the West Catholic League, and an appearance in the state championship game in 2007...against Mater Dai in the championship game, he scored 22 points in an overtime loss...choose Saint Mary's over Marquette, Nevada, Oregon State, Santa Clara, and UC Santa Barbara.
