The 33rd Annual Car Drawing presented by Steadauto.com took place on Sunday, March 29 on the campus of Saint Mary's. This event raised over $65,000 for the Gael Athletic Fund and student-athlete scholarships.
Frank and Anne Baumann, longtime supporters and honorary alumni of the College, won the grand prize of $20,000 in their 33rd year of participation. Charlie and Jean Huxsoll won the first prize of $1,000 and Bart Orsi took home the second prize of $500.
Coach's Rob Browning and Paul Thomas, along with student-athletes Jordan Grider, men's soccer, Gavin Leon, men's tennis, Ashley Nied, women's soccer, and Andrea Zannoni, men's tennis spoke to the crowd of over 150, highlighting how their support allows the Gaels to compete at the highest levels of the NCAA. Coach Browning and Thomas, as well as Jordan Grider, participated in post-season play this year, and the Gaels basketball squad recently capped off a Sweet 16 run in the NCAA tournament.
This is the 15th year Steadauto.com has served as the presenting sponsor for the Car Drawing Gala and this event has raised more than $1.75 million for Saint Mary's athletic scholarships over the past 32 years.
