Walnut Creek, Calif. - Ruth's Chris Steak House officially unveiled its new "Saint Mary's Room" today. The Saint Mary's Room is a private dining area within the Walnut Creek restaurant that is now one of three private dining areas within Ruth's Chris, joining The Diablo Room and The Olympic Room.

The addition of the room comes as part of a strong partnership formed between Saint Mary's College and Ruth's Chris. The partnership began a year ago when Ruth's Chris signed on as a sponsor with the Saint Mary's College Athletic Department due to the increased regional and national recognition the basketball team is garnering. General Manager Brian Walsh was also very interested in supporting SMC, which boasts a very intimate and community based atmosphere.
"We are thrilled to further solidify our partnership by re-naming one of our private rooms in honor of Saint Mary's College," said Ruth's Chris General Manager, Brian Walsh. "Our relationship is founded on the core value of wisdom and the pursuit of new knowledge, skills and solutions in the interest of improvement."
In addition to the creation of the Saint Mary's Room, the two entities are also enhancing the partnership in other areas. This season, SMC basketball fans looking for a snack at home games can forgo the traditional hot dogs or nachos and opt for a tray of delicious Ruth's Chris Sliders. Needless to say, SMC fans are quite pleased with the addition of these delectable treats!
Ruth's Chris will also be extending its newly-established catering services to graduating students. As the SMC tradition goes, the overwhelming majority of students chose to celebrate their graduation by renting "plots" on campus where their family and friends can join to ring in their accomplishments in style. The longstanding tradition seems to be unique at Saint Mary's, thanks to its strong sense of community. Ruth's Chris is now offering students the option of having their plots catered by the Walnut Creek restaurant.
"We are always working very hard to show that Ruth's Chris values its community," said Ruth's Chris Sales Manager, Aimee Graham. "We feel that with this new transformation, of one of our exclusive private dining rooms and the extension of our catering services to the students on campus, we are able to reflect that value. The new Saint Mary's Room is a perfect culmination of hometown and elegance that we thrive for everyday. We trust that our guests will feel the same and won't hesitate in hosting their next special event inside it. Come on in and show your Gael pride!"
The Saint Mary's Room is available for reservation by large or small parties. The room can seat up to 24 people, which can be reserved for private parties. The room has a built in A/V screen and is newly decorated with a special wood colored version of the SMC athletic logo and wood trim throughout the room.
Saint Mary's fans wishing to dine in the new Saint Mary's Room are reminded that the back of their basketball ticket contains a coupon for a free appetizer with purchase of an entrée. For more details on this offer, please click here.
"We are thrilled at the development of our Partnership with Ruth's Chris," said Saint Mary's Assistant Athletic Director, Mike Samuels. "General Manager Brian Walsh is very dedicated to supporting the local community as is Sales Manager Aimee Graham, which is important to SMC. Both of them are extremely innovative in how they view our partnership, so I am very excited to see how this relationship will continue blossom, year after year. The installation of this room is a great example at how committed Ruth's Chris is to the College, our alumni, and our fans. Everyone here is simply ecstatic about the support they are providing."
