The Saint Mary's women's soccer team had a shutout win against CSU Bakersfield 2-0 on Friday. With both first-half scores by Jordan Marada, the Gaels sealed their victory. Marada now has seven goals and five assists this season, totaling her record from 2010.
Also playing on Friday was the Saint Mary's men's soccer team, who unfortunately could not get the ball past the opposing GK. The men tied 0-0 against San Diego with both Justin Grider and Conroy Cunningham leading the team in attempted shots. After, the men travelled to Loyola Marymount, winning in a close 1-0 game.
Senior goalkeeper Doug Herrick played 200 minutes with nine saves and no goals throughout the weekend.
As for Saint Mary's women's tennis, the Gaels faced tough competition at the 2011 Cal Nike Invitational. In singles round robin play, Jade Frampton defeated her opponent in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3. As for doubles play, Leduc and Aloia advance to Sunday's finals. Frampton and Jullien also advanced to the finals of the consolation bracket.
The Saint Mary's women's volleyball battled hard but could not pull out the win against Loyola Marymount, losing in three-sets on Saturday afternoon. Junior Lauren Corp led the Gaels with 10 kills on 22 swings.
