Gaels Set To Host Special Olympics Clinic

MORAGA, Calif. -- The Saint Mary's College men's and women's basketball teams will host a clinic for the athletes of Special Olympics Northern California on Saturday, December 10 from 9:00-10:30am in McKeon Pavilion on the Saint Mary's campus.

The clinic, sponsored by Common Interest Management, will host approximately 50 Special Olympics athletes from Contra Costa and Alameda counties, drawing from Walnut Creek, Moraga, Hayward, Lafayette, Pleasanton, Danville, Pleasant Hill, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, San Ramon, Alameda and Alamo.

Special Olympics athletes will participate in several skills and drills, run by the Saint Mary's men's and women's basketball teams, including dribbling, passing, shooting and dribble relays.

Participating Special Olympics athletes will receive a Saint Mary's rally towel courtesy of Common Interest Management and a ticket voucher for a men's or women's basketball game this season.

Saint Mary's hosted a Special Olympics Soccer Clinic this fall, and a will host a Special Olympics Volleyball Clinic this spring. All three Special Olympics Clinics are sponsored by Common Interest Management.

Saint Mary's has hosted two basketball clinics (2009 and 2010), two soccer clinics (2010 and 2011) and a volleyball clinic (2011).
