MORAGA, Calif. -- The Saint Mary's College men's and women's basketball teams will host a clinic for the athletes of Special Olympics Northern California on Sunday, November 4 from 11am-12:30pm in McKeon Pavilion on the Saint Mary's campus.
The clinic, sponsored by Common Interest Management, will host approximately 75 Special Olympics athletes from Contra Costa and Alameda counties, drawing from Walnut Creek, Moraga, Hayward, Lafayette, Pleasanton, Danville, Pleasant Hill, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, San Ramon, Alameda and Alamo.
Special Olympics athletes will participate in several skills and drills, run by the Saint Mary's men's and women's basketball teams, including dribbling, passing, shooting and dribble relays.
Participating Special Olympics athletes will receive a Saint Mary's rally towel courtesy of Common Interest Management and a ticket voucher for a men's and women's basketball game this season.
This is the fourth year in a row Saint Mary's has hosted clinics for local Special Olympic athletes, and the third year Common Interest Management has sponsored the events.
