Spring 2013: Turned strong fall into a standout spring, earning All-West Coast Conference second team honors in his lone season as a Gael ... Spent the latter portion of the season in the ITA national rankings, and landed at No. 112 the week after completing his season ... Played No. 1 singles for all but one match, compiling a spring record of 9-13 ... Defeated two ranked opponents in the spring, beginning with a 6-3, 6-3 win over No. 58 Dennis Novikov of UCLA on Feb. 24 ... Earned 7-6, 3-6, 1-0 victory over No. 37 Patrick Kawka of BYU on March 30, a win that helped Kiuru break into the ITA rankings at No. 100 ... Teamed with Joakim Norstrom at No. 1 doubles all season, going 10-12 in the spring and earning All-WCC honorable mention honors ... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll for academic excellence.
Fall 2012: Helped Saint Mary's to historic results early in the season ... Paired with Joakim Norstrom to reach the finals of the Aggie Invitational, defeating tournament No. 1 seeds from Stanford along the way ... Combined again with Norstrom at the ITA Northwest Regional, winning four matches, including a win over No. 1 seeds from Oregon, to become the first Gaels ever to reach an ITA Regional final. ... Also reached singles quarterfinals at ITA Regional. ... Named along with Norstrom as West Coast Conference Doubles Players of the Month for October.
Prior to Saint Mary's: Competed for three seasons at Maryland ... Went 51-35 in singles and 46-35 in doubles for three seasons with the Terrapins ... As a junior, won the red bracket at the UVa Classic ... Before attending Maryland, competed at the Finnish National Tournament as a junior player ... Born in Lahti, Finland.
