SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- With the recent conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year, the West Coast Conference recognized an impressive number of Saint Mary's student-athletes as part of the 12th annual WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll, which recognizes student-athletes that have balanced athletic success with academic excellence.
A total of 101 Gaels, more than one-third of the total student-athlete population at Saint Mary's, were included on the list, including 12 who earned gold honors for maintaining a cumulative grade point average between 3.75 and 4.0. Saint Mary's had 21 student-athletes on the list to receive silver honors for having a GPA between 3.50-3.74 and 68 were recognized as maintaining between a 3.0-3.49.
Those listed as gold recipients included: Samuel Bloore, men's tennis; Tiffany Gill, rowing; Kristina Graven, volleyball; Lukas Isaacson, soccer; Nathalie Lambrecht, rowing; Beau Levesque, basketball; Tuomas Manner, tennis; Danica Mendivil, volleyball; Carina Novell, cross country; Katie Reininger, volleyball; Anna Schroeder, volleyball; and Katie Wahl, rowing.
For the second consecutive year, more than 1,000 WCC student-athletes were recognized for honors on the Commissioner's Honor Roll for possessing at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Only grades earned at WCC institutions may be used in calculating the grade point average for this award. To be considered for this honor, student-athletes must meet the following requirements:
- Individuals must have earned a varsity letter in a sport which the conference determined a champion in the recently completed academic year.
- The cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 must be based on a 4.0 scale.
- The individuals must have successfully completed an average of at least 12 graded credit hours (non pass-fail hours) per term.
