MORAGA, Calif. — Perry Cohen of the Saint Mary's men's golf team was named Muscle Milk Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 3-9 after he recorded his first career medalist victory at the Nick Watney Invitational at San Joaquin Country Club.
Cohen finished the tournament at 5-under and led wire-to-wire during the two day tournament. The junior carded rounds of 68-71-69 for a 208 total. He tied his season low round of 68 and scored his second top-10 finish of the fall season after ending tied for eighth at the USF Olympic Invitational.
Cohen delivered a clutch moment in the final round to claim the honors, as he went on to birdie the 18th for the one stroke victory over Justin De Los Santos of Cal Poly. For the season, Cohen is averaging a team-low 71.3 strokes per round through the first three tournaments.
Cohen and the Gaels are back on the links for the Alister MacKenzie Invitational at The Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif. The 54 hole tournament will take place Monday-Tuesday (Oct. 10-11). Fans can follow live stats via the tournamen's page on GolfStat.
