MORAGA, Calif. — Gabe Arias-Sheridan of the Saint Mary's men's cross country team was named Muscle Milk Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10-16 after he ran a school and meet record in winning Saturday's 8-kilometer invitational race at the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Park.
Arias-Sheridan finished the race in 23 minutes, 27.8 seconds while leading SMC to fourth place over regionally ranked schools such as Texas Tech, California and New Mexico State, as well as West Coast Conference foes Loyola Marymount, Santa Clara and San Diego. It was Arias' second win of the season after coming in first in the Speedway Duals 7.25 km race in 22:41.
Arias-Sheridan and the Gaels next compete on Oct. 28 at the West Coast Conference Championships in San Diego.
