Hansen Named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. — Senior Zach Hansen of the Saint Mary's men's track team has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 11-17 after running one of the top-25 times in the country in the 1,500-meter run over the weekend.

Hansen ran the 1,500 at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday in a time of 3 minutes, 43.46 seconds. He finished second in his heat by just .05 seconds. It was a four-second improvement from his personal record set at the Hornet Invitational nearly one month earlier. At weekend's end, Hansen's time ranked No. 17 in the NCAA West Region and No. 25 in the country overall.

Hansen's time puts him in position to become the first Saint Mary's track athlete to qualify for an NCAA Regional. There is approximately one month left in the regular season before the lists are finalized and qualifiers are announced.
