MORAGA, Calif. — Redshirt freshman Abby Bolt was named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday after running one of the fastest 6-kilometer cross country races in Saint Mary's history Saturday.
Bolt made her debut in the distance at the San Francisco Invitational at Golden Gate Park. Bolt completed the race as the Gaels' top runner and finished 25th overall, running the ninth-fastest 6 km in Saint Mary's women's cross country history in 22 minutes, 5.4 seconds.
Bolt was part of an excellent performance by the women's team Saturday. SMC had all six of its competitors finish within 60 seconds of each other, with all of its top-five runners defeating West Coast Conference rival Santa Clara's top finisher.
The Gaels' season continues on Sept. 15 when they return to Golden Gate Park for the Speedway Duals.
