Q: Your thoughts on winning?
Coach Bennett: "It's a tough game. We haven't played in a week, we played at nine o'clock at night. A lot of pressure on that game. We struggled for a while. I thought we turned it over and we didn't shoot it well. We were inconsistent. We didn't have some good runs, and then I thought last ten, twelve minutes of the game we played well. Krebs stepped up some big threes, and so did Calvin. That created some separation. Once we got some separation, we loosened up. We needed that before we play this Monday against BYU and it was good for us."
Q: Did you get a sense that this was a shooting night for you?
Hermanson: "Early on my coach said that we didn't feel like we were playing our best basketball. I had a couple threes on the first half, and the second half really just broke it open, and felt like everyone was getting great shots. When we play offense like that and spread the ball and just find the open man, open shots like to go in."
Q: What are your thoughts facing BYU for the semifinal?
Calvin: "They're going to be a good team. They won down here already, so obviously they have a little more momentum going. They played us tough twice. They played us tough at our place and it was tough in their atmosphere at Provo. We're excited for the challenge. We knew it's not easy over here, and we're looking forward to taking them on a third time."
Q: How dangerous can you guys be on a night when you have 11 three's and beat them by 20 points in the paint?
Calvin: "It's a lot of fun and really dangerous. When our offense is clicking, it's a thing of beauty when you're watching it, and even being a part of it. When you got Jock going down low and drives guys going in, trying to help him, and got shooters open, and have guys knocking in shots, it's a good night for us."
Q: As a shooter, what's it like to play with a guy like Emmett Naar who had 11 assists and just had one turnover tonight?
Calvin: "It's great. It's a lot of fun too. Emmett is awesome. He's been doing it all year, makes plays for us. Whether as a shooter or a pick and roll, Emmett makes good plays, and tonight is just another example. He's a great player."
Q: How was Joe with that knee? Was he less than his best night? What did you expect from him?
Coach Bennett: "Joe didn't practice all week—played into this thing too. He was fine, and he moved fine, and I think he'll be fine. He hadn't gone yet to practice or anything, so I don't think he knew what to totally expect. We didn't know what to totally expect. I think it was good for him to play and see that it's OK. I think he feels good now, but yeah, he was a little rusty."
