MORAGA, Calif. - In just the second home contest of 2017, Saint Mary's men's soccer again went the distance, as UC Davis used a late second-half goal to equalize the match and escape with the double-overtime draw, 1-1.

SMC moves to 2-3-3 on the year, as UC Davis records its first draw of the season and moves to 3-5-1.

Saint Mary's had most of the scoring chances and outshot the Aggies 15-8 in the match. Despite the scoring opportunities, the Aggies keepers kept the team alive with five saves in the 110 minutes played.

The Gaels controlled the first half with strong play in the midfield and the box. In the latter part of the first half, freshman Lucas Andrews nearly broke the deadlock with a nice run and shot in the right corner of the six yard box. The shot was ultimately saved by the Aggies keeper to preserve the 0-0 tie into halftime.

SMC kept the pressure coming in the second half, as the team fired away six shots with three going on frame. Senior Ben Braman nearly scored the game winner in the 95th minute off a high rising header, but was saved by UCD goalie Jon Laughlin.
