TUCSON, Ariz. - Saint Mary's men's tennis (1-2) nearly clinched its second win of the dual season Saturday afternoon, but fell just short in a close battle versus New Mexico State, 4-3 at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
Damon Kesaris remains undefeated in the spring after securing his third straight singles victory on court 1. The sophomore blew past Luis Flores in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Senior leader Nash Vollenweider displayed top notch tennis to win a straight-set affair on court 2.
Daniel Krutik got his first singles win of the dual season in an epic three-set clash on court 5. The junior from Israel won the third set tiebreaker, 10-7.
The Gaels will return to the courts tomorrow to face Arizona. First serves versus the Wildcats is set for 12:30 p.m. PT.
