MORAGA, Calif. - On Tuesday, May 13th the 2025 men's and women's tennis CSC Academic All-District teams were announced with five total Gaels earning the academic honor. From the women's side,
Stefanie Silva,
Juliette Daries and
Madison Weekley earned the academic distinction while
Paulo Hugo Etchecoin and
Thibaud Maxant represented the men's side.
Women's Tennis
Stefanie Silva was one of the leaders on the Gaels women's tennis team, finishing her senior campaign with a solid 10-3 duals record. Silva was previously named to the CSC Academic All-District team in 2023. She led the team this year with a 3.97 GPA while majoring in Biology at Saint Mary's.
Weekley closely followed Silva in the classroom with a 3.89 GPA while majoring in Business Administration. On the court, Weekley was 7-3 in singles play and also had doubles victories with teammates
Olivia Rook and
Tiana Fox. This is her first CSC All-District selection of her SMC career.
Juliette Daries was the team's lone All-WCC selection and rounded out the team's three selections to the CSC Academic All-District team. Daries was a dominant pair along with teammate Silva throughout the season and earned a 3.61 ERA in the classroom this semester.
Men's Tennis
Paulo Hugo Etchecoin played in 13 matches for the Gaels this season and earned his first career CSC Academic All-District selection. Etchecoin posted an impressive 3.57 GPA in the classroom this spring while majoring in Business Administration here at Saint Mary's.
Senior
Thibaud Maxant was one of the team's most consistent players all season long. He was unbeaten in his final three duals and earned wins over Gonzaga and Portland to help clinch a spot in this year's conference tournament. This also went down as Maxant's first CSC All-District selection to conclude his SMC career.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's and women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 4, 2025.

Academic Eligibility Criteria:
Academic eligibility minimums: An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
Athletic Requirements:
Men's and Women's Tennis student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the total number of institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total number of games played.
