MTEN | Gaels Open Play at ITA Regionals

Saint Mary's will advance in both brackets after Day 1 of the tournament on Thursday.

SEATTLE — Saint Mary's had some struggles on the first day of the ITA Northwest Regionals but pulled out a win in doubles and will also advance a member for the Round of 64 in singles.

On the doubles courts, David Abfalter and Matis Bot earned a dominating win against Eastern Washington's duo of Bats/Doumen with a 8-2 final score. The Gaels' tandem will take on Brumm/Kikuchi from Cal in the Round of 32.

Damon Kesaris also advanced to the next round of the singles bracket after a first round bye. He will take on Oregon's Young-Smith who won 6-1, 6-4 in the Round of 128.
