MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's beach volleyball team earned its seventh sweep victory of the season Thursday, staying undefeated at home with a 5-0 win over South Bay foe San Jose State at Moraga Commons.

The Gaels (12-7) swept every single pairs match, not dropping a single set. The pairs of Morgan Hughes and Payton Rund (No. 1), and Lindsey Calvin and Kelsey Knudsen (No. 4) each won their second straight match. Hughes and Rund took down San Jose State's (7-10) top pair of Nandyala Gama and Lyndu Scholl, 21-16 and 21-15. Calvin and Knudsen beat Laura Parts and Kaitlynn Zdroik by identical scores of 21-19, 21-19.

Morgan Kendrick and Jennifer "Boo" Laird moved to 4-3 as a pair this season, winning the No. 5 match over Thaliana Grajeda and Jamie Hirai, 21-18, 21-18. Sarah Chase and Mary Hernandez evened their season record to 9-9 with a 21-17, 21-14, sweep at No. 3 pairs. Emily Bible and Lindsey Knudsen moved to 8-5 at No. 2 pairs this season with the Gaels' largest margin of victory on the day, sweeping Julia Golbeck and Ciara Reistad, 21-13, 21-13.

The Gaels travel to Stanford's West Coast Classic this weekend for three matches starting Saturday. Saint Mary's Sunday matchup versus the host Cardinal will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
